Joyful Fem!Bilbo Observations

Telling you all now, this is gonna be me gushing about the amazing fanfic / fanart creators out there becuase my goodness -

I unashamedly LOVE Fem!Bilbo. 

Not just because The Hobbit is a sausage-fest and why the hell can’t Bilbo be a girl - reasons. But I also love the way the dynamics of the story can change!

I love the different appearances people give her! I love that from fic to fic her name can vary from Billa to Bella to Bilba to Bluebell to Belladonna or just Bilbo! 

I love the idea of a female Hobbit living alone and owning her own Smial, quite content to be a spinster thank you very much! 

I also love how (shipping aside) being a girl would change the relationships with the company!

On the one hand we have the “Why is this hobbit so weak? Dis could have killed half of us in the time it took Miss Baggins to get down from her pony” but in equal measure we get “GANDALF WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING!? This hobbit is a precious female gift from Mahal how dare you send her out into the wilds to face a dragon what is wrong with you!?”

But the one thing I love most, which I have found in every single Fem!Bilbo fic, is that no matter how prim / adventurous / young / old Bilbo is, she is always a hurricane of rage and fury when provoked. Where in the beginning, Bilbo was pissed off and passive, you can bet your last gold coin Fem!Bilbo will be screaming or threatening bodily harm with a spoon (in true Lobelia fashion). It has gotten to the point where it would not surprise me to read the arrival of the company and see

“She looks more like a grocer than a burglar”

“That. Is. It! I do not care who you are Mr. Thorin, King Under a Mountain, but I am Queen Under this Hill and in this smial my word is law! Now, you and your company will take off your muddy boots, you will leave your weapons in the cloak room, you will sit down at the table and eat your dinner with some manners or so help me Yavanna I will remove each of you from my home one by one without so much as a ‘Come back soon’! Have I made myself clear?”

And before Thorin can even reply, half of the company have taken off their boots and run to the cloakroom (Because lets face it, if you were married or had a mother like Dis, you would know to run) 

So after all that gushing, i’d just like to thank all the Fem Bilbo writers, artists and fans who have made her such an enjoyable AU for the rest of us to love

Spinel is literally Mickey Mouse why are y'all comparing her to Bendy or Cuphead she’s literally a reference to the OG mouse! It’s ESPECIALLY prominent with her two hearts that NEVER change from frontal view to keep her silhouette, just like Mickey Mouse is designed!

No matter what angle she was at, it was always hearts, just like Mickey always has his ears as two circles!!
